Turn a Hair Look into a Film Character Brief

On a film, hair is part of the story. Before anyone picks up a comb, you need to know three things:

  1. Observation — describe the look as facts: length, shape, texture, colour, parting.
  2. Story — what the look says about the character in this moment.
  3. Continuity — what must stay the same in every scene it appears.

Working from a photo? Describe it in your own words. ORION does not look at images in this lesson.
